That may be an exaggeration of the efforts King County has put forth in trying to get more businesses to report their personal property to the County and be assessed for personal property tax, but through July 1st King County has an amnesty program in place which eliminates penalties for unreported personal property. The County is providing business owners the occasion to come forward and pay their tax while not being "dinged" for being unaware of their tax requirements with the county.
